New theoretical positions concerning the patterns of formation and long-term maintenance of monocultural and thematic gardens as a spatial-temporal and anthropogenically-transformable system are developed. The system of transformation of the structure of low-value plantations into highly decorative, scientific-valuable and aesthetic is substantiated. The biological and ecological features of plants suitable for the creation of monocultural and thematic gardens are investigated. Selected assortment of the most promising decorative plants that have undergone introductory tests and are suitable for the creation of these gardens.
