The purpose is to study the directions and means of increasing the effectiveness of methodological training of teachers in the system of continuous education through the introduction of a competent approach to the content of education: the creation of a model of teacher's methodological competence in the teaching of mathematics (informatics); substantiation of scientific approaches, technologies of teaching that most contribute to the formation of methodological competence of the teacher as a whole and its separate components including; determination of criteria and indicators of formation of separate components of teacher's methodological competence; meaning content of the levels of formation of individual components of the teacher's methodological competence in teaching mathematics; the search for the most effective methodological approaches to the teaching of mathematics in the system of continuous education of young people, the theoretical substantiation, development and experimental verification of the model of formation of the methodical competence of future teachers for the teaching of mathematics and informatics. Research methods: - theoretical - analysis of scientific and methodological, psychological and pedagogical and methodical literature, synthesis, systematization, generalization of existing theoretical positions, methods and practical results and their comparison, abstraction and theoretical modeling; - empirical -complex of experimental methods of recording and forming experiment). Theoretical and practical results: On the basis of the analysis of the teacher's methodological activity in teaching mathematics (informatics) and the branch standards of the areas of training 6.010102 "Primary education", 6.040201 "Mathematics", 6.040302 "Informatics", developed a normative model of teacher's methodological competence in teaching mathematics (informatics); the pedagogical conditions for the formation of methodical competence of future teachers in teaching mathematics (informatics) are substantiated; scientific approaches (competence, activity and personality oriented, technological and task oriented), technologies (contextual, problem, project, interactive, situational learning and ICT) and means (a complex of educational and methodical tasks, a complex of situational problems, multimedia means), the formation of methodical competence; The levels of formation of the teacher's methodological competence (high, sufficient, average, low) according to the motivational, content and operational-activity criteria are characterized; Structural-functional model of the formation of methodical competence, which contains the conceptual-target block (purpose, components of methodical competence, scientific approaches), content-activity (methodical system of training) and productive parties (monitoring and diagnostics of the levels of formation of methodical competence and the planned result) is created. Based on the developed model of teacher's methodological competence in teaching mathematics (informatics), with the purpose of implementing a structural and functional model of methodological competence formation, the possibilities of methodical disciplines for forming the components of methodical competence were determined, content of teaching methodological courses was updated, normative programs of educational disciplines were improved on a competent basis. Novelty: the model of teacher's methodological competence in teaching mathematics (informatics) is improved on the basis of the analysis of teacher's methodological activity and analysis of normative documents of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, which regulate the content and results of education; For the first time in the practice of higher education, the structural and functional model for the formation of methodical competence of future teachers in mathematics education (computer science) was developed and introduced for the first time. It is partly implemented in the process of postgraduate education of a teacher at teacher training courses. The effectiveness of implementation: raising the level of methodical competence of future teachers for the study of mathematics (informatics) students, as evidenced by the results of the molding experiment. The results can be used in higher education institutions that train future teachers for mathematics (informatics) and in postgraduate education institutions for teachers to improve their qualifications.
