This monograph includes five closely related chapters. The first chapter is concerned with the tendencies in Ukrainian linguistic didactic science of the late 20th – early 21st century. Lexical, semantic, grammatical and stylistic features of modern linguistic didactic terminology have been examined in the second chapter. Changes that have occurred over the past two decades in academic linguistics, as well as modern achievements of Ukrainian applied linguistics, have been taken into account. The third chapter covers issues of linguistic tradition and literary norms in the linguistic didactic terminology of the first half of the 21st century. In particular, the normative use of deverbatives in the scientific linguistic didactic discourse and the functioning of collective numerals and preposition through as a part of term phrases denoting hyphenation have been considered. The conceptual correlation of linguistic didactic terms “work with text” and “work on text” have been characterized. The fourth chapter deals with the culture of professional speech of a scholar in the field of linguistic didactics and a language teacher, as well as the culture of speech in students’ research papers on the Ukrainian language. Not only the most typical problematic issues associated with the use of modern linguistic didactic terminology have been characterized, but also general recommendations for its standardization in accordance with the current norms of the Ukrainian literary language have been presented. The purpose of the fifth chapter is to analyze the linguistic peculiarities of certification works on the Ukrainian language in the format of External Independent Evaluation. In particular, the grammatical structure of conditions of tests, the use of linguistic terms from the standpoint of normativity and their correspondence to academic linguistics and Ukrainian language school course have been highlighted. The material of the monograph can be used in the process of compiling the lexicographical works on modern linguistic didactics, school and university textbooks, guidelines and in the process of writing theses for the degree of Doctor of Science and Doctor of Philosophy.
