The object of research is the technology of conducting converter melting with the replacement of a part of limestone with limestone and end converter slag. The purpose of the work is to determine the technological feasibility of conducting converter melting with the replacement of a part of limestone with limestone and final converter slags. As a result of the work carried out a literary analysis of the issue of the replacement of lime in the oxygen-converter process by other slag forming materials, laboratory studies to determine the solubility of lime in converter slags with different amounts undetected from 2,20 to 38,10. It is proved that the released oxide, carbon during dissociation of limestone, destroying the crust, promotes the dissolution of lime.
