The paper presents a scientific analysis of expert practice, special literature and regulatory acts of Ukraine and foreign countries, developed criteria for the differentiation of forensic examinations by classes, genera, species, subspecies. It has been formed new classes, kinds and types of forensic examinations. Its improved classification will contribute to the development of the theory and methodology of forensic examination.
