The analysis of sources of UV radiation, the advantages and disadvantages of using discharge lamps in different technological processes has been analyzed. The method of estimation of the useful life of ultraviolet light-pressure tubes in photobiological and photochemical processes are proposed. The efficiency of ultraviolet radiation utilization in bactericidal decontamination of loose food products, microbiological purification of activated charcoal and pre-sowing treatment of seeds of agricultural crops has been investigated.
