The "phytounits" composed by tropical plants aimed at amelioration of environment within health-care facilities were implemented at State Scientific Institution "Center for Innovative Medical Technologies" of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. Findings of this project confirmed the therapeutic value of tropical plants with high phytoremediation potencies in the hospital environment as an effective method for amelioration of indoor air quality. Health care professionals and hospital administrators need to consider the use of plants and flowers to enhance healing environments for patients.
