Elderly patients with COPD have decreased functioning of the cardiorespiratory system, resistance to hypoxia and quality of life. Mechanisms of compensation at hypoxia they have the reaction of ventilation, pulmonary gas exchange and blood flow, cardiovascular system. However, these reactions are not enough. In elderly patients with COPD, microcirculation disorders are determined by bronchial obstruction and blood saturation. Hypoxic and respiratory training improve ventilation, pulmonary gas exchange, normalize ANS regulation, improve quality of life in elderly patients with COPD.
