Critical analysis of EUNIS approaches and classification is made in order to adapt it to the specific nature of Ukraine. Classification schemes and lists of biotopes of biosphere reserves of Ukraine (Eastern Carpathians, Western Polesie, Carpathian Biosphere Reserve, Black Sea Biosphere Reserve, Askania Nova Biosphere Reserve) have been created. Identification of the volume of isolated biotopes relative to existing pan-European systems has been carried out. The concept of forming a system of protected objects of multifunctional type is developed and scientifically grounded. Four new BRs have been proposed. Significance of biosphere biotopes for biosphere reserves for the indication of the state of the environment and the risks of their losses was carried out using the author's technique Didukha Ya.P.
