The object of the study - methods for collecting statistically adequate in-situ data for land cover mapping and evaluation of Leaf Area Index (LAI). The purpose of the work - creation of a database with in-situ data for land cover mapping and evaluation of Leaf Area Index (LAI) Research method - geospatial analysis, object-oriented design, structural functional analysis, statistical methods, machine learning, neural networks, mathematical modeling. Within this project the collection and processing of data collected during along the roads surveys has been carried out. Data for determining the land cover type were collected along the roads of the Kiev region in a statistically adequate manner. The Leaf Area Index LAI was evaluated in a non-destructive manner in accordance with the VALERI protocol in the CANEYE software. Based on the results of the processing a database was dveloped for further use within the framework of thematic tasks
