Having analyzed the conditions of land resources in Europe, identified that big areas of lands are not used for agricultural purpose and attributed to marginal lands. It was defined that there is inutility in criteria of marginal lands evaluation, classification and definition. The criteria of marginal lands classification and indicators of their definition were developed. The catalogue of bioenergy crops suitable to grow on deferent categories of marginal lands was created.
