The aim of this study is to develop an optimal system for rendering diagnostic care for syphilis and trichomoniasis taking into account modern diagnostic technologies and possibilities of laboratory service in Ukraine. Methods of study are serological, microbiological, molecular and statistical. The state of laboratory diagnosis of syphilis in 21 skin and venereal hospitals of the country was studied, a number of negative tendencies, hindering qualitative serologic diagnostics and timely detection of patients with syphilis in Ukraine were identified. According to the results of external quality control cycles in the screening diagnosis of syphilis the percentage of unsatisfactory results were 9.5 %, with the use of treponemal tests were 4.7 %. The method of rapid plasma reagents and the reaction of passive hemagglutination is less time-consuming and more economical and this allowed us to recommend their implementation as part of a new complex of serological reactions to syphilis. The technology for obtaining an experimental antigen for the preparation of a fast plasma-reactive test for diagnosis of syphilis has been developed, which will enable it to be used at different levels of render medical care to the population in the screening diagnosis of syphilis. An optimum living medium for the allocation of trichomonas was found, which allowed to increase the efficiency and quality of the diagnostic procedure and was verified culturally in 48.7 % of the examined patients and bacterioscopically in 20.6 % ones. It has been shown that the PCR method provides high specificity and reliability of the study results in determining the DNA fragments characteristic of T. pallidum and T. vaginalis.
