The purpose of research work is to synthesize and analyze models of estimation of investment and innovation risks, study the theoretical concept and methodology of risk management, development of effective methods of risk management of investment projects. The scientific novelty of the results obtained is to develop a conceptual system approach to the assessment of investment and innovation risks, in particular: the essence and clarification of investment projects classification are characterized; the essence of the investment project risk is determined; reasonable criteria for decision-making on managing investment projects under risk conditions; a complex risk management system for investment projects is proposed that covers a set of measures from risk identification to a comprehensive assessment of the effectiveness of risk management. The practical significance of the results is to develop scientific methodological and practical recommendations for improving the methodology for evaluating investment and innovation risks.
