The object of research - is data of fires statistics on response to the hazardous events of civil protection forces. The aim of work - increasing the effectiveness of protecting people and territories from emergencies by preparing proposals for improving the response system to hazardous events. The work was carried out using methods of mathematical statistics, data aggregation and extrapolation of data. The statistical data on fires in Ukraine concerning indicators of response to them by fire and rescue units were analyzedand and the ways of improving the response of units to hazardous events associated with fires have been grounded. The results of the work will be used in the practical activities of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, territorial authorities and higher institutions of the sphere of administration of State Emergency Service of Ukraine
