The specificity of the interaction of theoretical and applied aspects of cultural studies both in the process of developing strategies for scientific research and in structuring the educational process is clarified. The concept "mentality" and “mental setup” are explored and delineated. The concept "political theology of the Orthodox world" was introduced.
