Description

A convenient way has been proposed for the production of new anthra[1,2,3-d]triazine-4,7,12(3H)-triones. Eight test compounds were found to effectively inhibit the growth of strains of S. aureus ATCC 25923, S. aureus ATCC 29213 and S. epidermidis ATCC12228 at a concentration of 1 μg/ml or lower. The high antistaphylococcal effect of the most active compounds against clinical isolates of S. aureus, including MRSA strains, were determined. The effect of the compounds on the morphology of cells of the A549 line was investigated and a high cytotoxic activity on this line was established. It was shown that studied 9,10-anthracenediones represent the most important class of anticancer substances with a double mechanism of action as inhibitors tyrosine protein kinase and telomerase. Compounds-leaders with high values of the studied activities were determined.
