The essence of dialect phenomena, regularities of their appearance, functioning in the linguistic continuum, the genesis, the geography of dialect units, the relation to the Proto Slavic language and other modern Slavic languages have been thoroughly studied. This systematic study of modern Ukrainian dialects allows us to reinterpret the dialect phenomena in the Ukrainian and Slavic context and to improve the study of interlingual relations.
