The purpose of the work is an improvement of production technology of chamotte castable. The research methods are physicochemical, petrographic, thermo-mechanical ones. The influence of new dispersing additives quantity on the flowing of freshly made, as well as the flowing and strength of structure depending on the storage time and on the main properties of chamotte castable was investigated. It was established that, the optimum quantity of new dispersing additives in the composition of chamotte castable provides an increase in cold crushing strength after 7 days of curing and after firing at a temperature of 1350 °C chamotte castable compared with chamotte castable without additives. The introduction of additives also increases the flowing of chamotte castable. Castables with these additives are not inferior to the main properties of the castable with the additive used today. Castables using new dispersant additives in the optimum amount for 1-4 hours remain mobile and suitable for lining. The maximum strength of the castables is obtained within 48 hours after being filled with water. The additives studied can be used in the manufacture of chamotte castable together with the addition of sodium threepolyphosphate. In JSC "The URIR named after A.S. Berezhnoy" the manufacturing technology of mullite corundum castable of "MKBS" brand with quartz containing addition, which in terms of properties meets the requirements of technical conditions, was mastered. In accordance with the requirements of current normative documentation in the JSC "The URIR named after A.S. Berezhnoy" the pilot batches of corundum, mullite corundum, chamotte castables, products with using chamotte castable and chamotte products have been produced. The work shall be continued in the line of further improvement of production technology of refractory castables, expanding volumes of their production and use, as well as manufacturing products on their basis.
