Study Aim: Seed longevity with different biochemical composition of soybean determination to further optimize its storage in active collections and during long-term storage. Theoretical and practical results. The seed longevity of soybean gene pool was determined for samples with different biochemical composition: protein content, oil content, fatty acid composition (palmitic, palmitic-oleic, stearic, oleic, linoleic, linolenic, eicosenoic, behenic). The seed longevity of soybean gene pool was determined by laboratory and field germination, morpho-physiological state of seedlings. Significant positive correlation was found between palmitic (0.78), stearic (0.95), linoleic (0.78), linolenic (0.79), and negative correlation between oleic acid (-0.85) and origanal seed germination. The aging process was simulated at a seed moisture content of 7% and after additional drying to 4% moisture content. Freezing of seeds with 7% moisture content and after additional drying at -20C was carried out. Laboratory and field indexes of seed germination, mophophysiological state of seedlings, elements of yield structure were evaluated. Our results determined additional drying to 4% extend the longevity of soybean seed with different biochemical composition. Additional seed drying should be applied even for seeds with 7% moisture content under special conditions only. A statistical relationship was established between fatty acid content and germination of soybean seeds under experimental and control conditions. Short guidelines for soybean active collections seed storage have been proposed Product Description popup.authors Bezuhla Olha M. Vus Nadiia O. Kobyzieva Liubov N.
