One of the main results is the extension of the Lie bracket approximation approach to a class of systems, for which the corresponding averaged system is asymptotically stable with respect to only a given part of the variables (but not to all the variables). The new concepts of partial practical asymptotic are developed and the conditions for practical asymptotic stability for systems with periodic inputs are obtained in terms of the Lyapunov function for the corresponding Lie bracket system. With the obtained results, a wide class of gradient-free control algorithms is constructed for such dynamic optimization problems. The obtained controls are also applied to the output stabilization of mechanical systems with respect to a part of variables. Discrete-time algorithmic approaches for dynamic optimization problems are also developed. To approximate the gradient descent algorithm, a general class of noncommutative mappings is presented.
