Effective synthesis, screening and application of new biologically active substances, for example, phytohormones salicylic and jasmonic acids, and also peptides of SCOOP family is based on investigations of molecular mechanisms of their action on plant cell metabolism. It was found that specific isoforms of phospholipase D (PLD) play a role in stress hormone action in plants. PLDβ1 and PLDγ1 isoforms are involved in jasmonic acid action, whereas PLDγ1 is involved in salicylic acid action in heavy metal tolerance in Arabidopsis thaliana plants. Among the peptides of SCOOP family, the action of SCOOP12 peptide in peroxide generation was the most similar to SCOOP12 peptide. This suggests that among different members of the peptide family action of SCOOP13 is related to induction of defense responses in plants.
