It was shown that under arginine deficiency in the culture medium the impact of taxol is determined by the type of tumor cells. The increase in HCT-116 cell death had a dose-dependent effect, whereas SKOV3 cells were less sensitive to different concentrations of this drug. A similar situation was observed in the evaluation of the residual proliferative potential of the respective cells during arginine starvation. A study of the migration ability of both cell lines in wound healing assay, as well as the adhesive properties of human colorectal cancer cells HCT-116, which were sensitive to the combined action of taxol and arginine deficiency, showed that this combined exposure leads to significant inhibition of tumor cell migration and heterotypic tumor cell adhesion, suggesting a reduction in the metastatic potential of the two cell lines analyzed. However, vincristine and taxol, chemotherapeutic drugs that modulate the structure of cytoskeleton cells actively proliferated, have had limited effects on the activity and expression of several proteins involved in cell adhesion and migration during arginine starvation. It was also found that under the action of the arginine structural analogue – canavanine – on the background of arginine deficiency dramatic decrease in viability, proliferative potential, adhesive and migration properties of human glioblastoma cells U251MG and U87MG was observed. Keywords: human tumor cells, arginine starvation, modulators of cytoskeletal structure, proliferative and metastatic potential, cell signaling pathways.   Product Description popup.authors Bobak Yaroslav P.
