Object of the study: children - residents of radioactively contaminated sites (RZT) with chronic pathology of the bronchi and lungs and without pathology of the bronchi and lungs. Purpose of work: to evaluate, on the basis of clinical, laboratory, instrumental, biochemical, molecular-genetic studies, the functional state of the bronchopulmonary system, determine the biochemical activity of glutathione-S-transferase and distribution of variant alleles of the GSTP1, GSTT1, GSTM1 and trans-gene genes children - residents of radioactively contaminated territories. Research methods: clinical, biochemical, instrumental, molecular-genetic, statistical. Results and their novelty. High frequency of bronchial hyperreactivity was found in children of RZT residents. The results of studies of markers of oxidative stress in children who did not have pathology of the bronchi and lungs and patients with bronchial asthma, indicate an increase in the content of LPO in serum, active antioxidants. Studies of the functional state of the bronchopulmonary system have shown that a decrease in bronchial patency is correlated with an increase in the TBC content of active LPO products in serum and a decrease in glutathione transferase activity. Molecular-genetic studies of GSTP1 gene polymorphism in children of RZT showed statistically significant differences in the frequency of registration of AA, AG and GG genotypes in comparison with practically healthy residents of Ukraine. It was shown that in the subgroup of children with bronchial hyperreactivity the deletion polymorphism of the GSTM1 gene and A313G genotype of the GSTP1 gene was found more frequently than in children without bronchial hyperreactivity. The frequency of the GSTT1 deletion polymorphism in the two subgroups was not significantly different. Implementation: 2 articles, 2 abstracts.
