Key concepts of general and professional viability have been identified and substantively disclosed, the history of its research and arguments on the importance of vitality for the individual have been considered. The content of the concept of resilience and the question of demarcation / correlation of resilience with similar in terms of meaning are analyzed. The basic signs and factors of vitality are distinguished; main approaches to understanding the concept of professional sustainability are analyzed. The basic principles, psychophysiological principles and methods of research of professional resilience are grounded. A professional viability questionnaire was developed.
