Objective: to improve the system of preserving and strengthening the health of students of different ages in general educational institutions with the help of justification of the positive impact of the family medical and social conditions on their life. Methods: sanitary-hygienic, social-hygienic, physiological-hygienic, clinical, psychological-pedagogical, statistical. Results: the influence of a family on the health and quality of life of school-age children in modern socio-economic conditions, hygienic and medico-social risk factors for the health of students in the institutions of general secondary education, the relationship between the living conditions and the health of students, conditions for enhancing the role of the family as a system of formation, preservation and promotion of health of school children was determined. The technology of implementation of a set of organizational and methodological measures for the formation of health-saving environment of school-age children and a set of measures for medical and psychological support of elementary school students within the framework of the scientific-pedagogical project "Intellect of Ukraine" were developed. Novelty: a system for assessing the risk factors for the deterioration of health of school-age children in the family, a set of measures for medical and psychological support for students and preventive measures to preserve and promote their health was created. Effectiveness: timely implementation of a set of developed organizational and methodological and psycho-hygienic measures will help to create a favorable health-friendly environment for school-age children in educational establishments and their families, and to improve the organization of medical and psychological support for school children.
