Modern cities act not only as spatial-territorial entities but also as active socio-cultural environments in which transformational processes occurring at the macro-level of the nation-state receive their impulse. In view of this, it is important to develop mechanisms for strategic planning of the socio-cultural development of cities, with the involvement of local people in active cultural activities. One of the important factors for advancement in this direction is the establishment of a cultural map of the city, which provides the identification of existing resources, identifying the basic needs of the citizens in the field of cultural industry and the creation of a database of cultural assets of the city. This process has several steps. First of all, organizations and individuals important to the city's culture are identified and all available cultural resources are analyzed. Subsequently, the needs of the locals and their relevance to the existing offerings of cultural institutions and events are subsequently determined. This is how a new identity of the city is formed through a culture that includes cultural heritage, contemporary arts, parks, rivers, traditional arts, religious customs, traditions and much more that is important in the city. Therefore, it refers to cultural mapping as a methodology or technology for identifying, describing, promoting and restoring cultural resources and values of a particular locality.
