popup.description2
The object of the study is atmospheric air pollution by emissions of radioactive substances from nuclear power plants of Ukraine and neighboring countries.
The purpose of the work is to study the effect of pollution, including in a transboundary context, of atmospheric air by emissions of radioactive substances from Ukrainian NPPs and neighboring countries.
Research methods - mathematical modeling of the distribution of radioactive substances in the air; cartographic method for visualizing pollution of territories.
Collected published data on emissions of radioactive substances from Ukrainian nuclear power plants and neighboring countries: the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania and Russia.
Meteorological characteristics were collected in the areas where the nuclear power plant was located and other data necessary for further calculations.
The verification models used for calculating NPP emissions under normal operating conditions and in the event of emergency situations were verified by comparison with calculations by other authors. The results of our own testing fully justify the use of precisely selected models.
The calculations and the justified radiation impact on the Ukrainian border of the consequences of the release of radioactive substances on the example of Rivne NPP in normal operation and in the event of accidental releases.
It is shown that the maximum permissible radiation parameters of equivalent and absorbed doses in organs and the whole body at the border of Ukraine are not exceeded under normal operation or in the event of a design emergency at the Rivne NPP.
