The aim of the project is a comprehensive and systematic study of the achievements of Kyiv Theological Academy philosophers and theologians in the context of European philosophy, theological science and education. Research methods. The project executors are the first to test and prove the productivity of complex approach to the study of chosen topic, utilizing general scientific and special (archeographic, historiographic, hermeneutic, culturological, comparative, prosopographic, biographical, etc.) methods, implemented on the basis of systematicity, coherency, validness, historism, tolerance, dialogism, as well as no ideological and denominational involvement. Results of the study and their scientific novelty. In the course of research that has no analogues in professional literature of Ukraine and abroad, based on the analysis of the legacy of philosophers and theologians of Kyiv Theological Academy (1819‒1924), the circle of Western European thinkers whose ideas and doctrines had the most significant impact on the academic environment of Kyiv of the 19th – the beginning of the 20th Century was identified for the first time; the content and peculiarities of the reception of Western European philosophical and theological thought in the work of the philosophers and theologians of Kyiv Theological Academy were clarified; the scientifically significant results of the studies on European philosophical and theological thought by Kyiv Theological Academy researchers were distinguished; the prominent role of the translation activities of Kyiv Theological Academy philosophers and theologians in spreading of European intellectual heritage in the Ukrainian territories was proven.
