The majority of the Ukrainian population is rather positive about the idea of Ukraine's joining the European Union. Citizens of Ukraine are responsible for the preservation of state sovereignty, speak out against the outward external influence on the domestic political life in the country from any side. Almost half of them have not felt any influence on themselves and their family since coming closer to the EU. 71% of Ukrainian citizens did not use visa liberalization during thelast two years. Supporters of NATO membership make up 46.5% of the country's adult population. The most willing to join the alliance are concentrated in the west of the country, and the least are in the Donbass region. Public opinion is torn between the desire for a neutral, non-aligned status and a NATO membership. Paper is devoted to the attitudes of joining the EU and NATO of not only the general population, but also the respective attitudes of various social groups, in particular youth, educational groups and residents of different regions. The dynamics of change of the population's attitude towards the foreign policy of the state over the two decades - from 2000 to 2019 is shown.
