The aim of this project is the development and manufacture of prototype phototherapeutic apparatuses for the prevention and treatment of diabetic foot syndrome using low-intensity electromagnetic radiation of various sections of the optical spectrum. The work continues the study of the patterns of low-intensity electromagnetic radiation of various parts of the optical spectrum range on the microcirculation of blood and lymph in the lower extremities and their innervation, blood rheological parameters, the amount and activity of insulin in patients with diabetes mellitus.
Based on the results of basic research and mathematical modeling, fundamentally new (innovative) highly effective methods and prototype phototherapeutic devices for the prevention and treatment of diabetic foot syndrome have been developed, which operate in biocontrol mode and include antibacterial photodynamic therapy in the treatment process, which will significantly reduce the number of amputations lower extremities in patients with diabetes mellitus
