It has been found out that the problem of self-determination regarding the future profession of gifted students of lyceum is being developed from the standpoint of several scientific approaches: differential-diagnostic (E. Klimov, F. Parsons, G. Mynstenberg, etc.); typological (O. Kreger, E. Fromm, J. Holland and others), the theory of development (E. Golovakha, P. Shavir and others), the theory of solutions (S. Goncharenko, D. Siper, etc.). The phenomenon under study is studied by scientists in various aspects: self-determination regarding the future profession as a type of self-determination (L. Bozhovich, M. Ginsburg, D. Zakatnov, M. Pryazhnikov, V. Safin, etc.); as a stage of professional formation of a specialist (A. Bondarenko, Y. Egorova, O. Kokun, T. Kudryavtsev, O. Pryazhnikov, etc.); the peculiarities of preparing young people for choosing a profession are studied (K. Abulkhanov-Slavskaya, O. Antonova, O. Kobernyk, L. Kulinenko, V. Rybalka, V. Machuski, G. Pustovit, M. Tymenko, etc.); pedagogical and psychological factors of self-determination regarding the future profession (O. Gudkova, D. Zakatnov, D. Leontiev, M. Pryazhnikov, V. Tymenko, V.
