In the course of the research it is substantiated that in constructing the content of the general secondary education of scientific direction it is necessary to base the students' basic knowledge on search activity (creative activity connected with the analysis of the available results of problem solving, their systematization, generalization and obtaining new knowledge); applied scientific research (research aimed at obtaining and using new knowledge for practical purposes (creation of new or improvement of existing materials, products, devices, methods, systems, technologies, proposals for solving current scientific and technical and social problems)); empirical scientific research (solving a scientific problem by collecting empirical data, their mathematical processing and logical interpretation); software development activities (formalized presentation of a task, construction of an algorithm for solving it and solving it in one of the programming languages); project activity (creative activity related to generating the idea of ​​solving a technical (in a broad sense) task and its graphical representation); design activity.
