During the implementation of the first stage of the Research work, digitalization is defined as a mechanism of information society formation. It is established that for the successful implementation of the state policy of digital development of Ukraine it is necessary to create an appropriate regulatory and legal framework; Information and communication technologies are the foundation of the country's digital economy. E-government has been singled out as a tool for modernizing public administration. Based on the results of the outlines prospects for the implementation of the process of digitization of the basic spheres of society for the economic growth of Ukraine. One of the promising areas is the development of technology and the field of artificial intelligence, which will make it easier to work with information in any field and help to obtain the knowledge that will be most effective for it. The use of social networks as the basic platform of digitalization of society is determined, in which it is necessary to form a media and information culture, as an important collective phenomenon of the information society. Libraries are the center of formation and media and information culture for their users.
