The report is presented in a 68 pagevolume, including 37 references in the bibliography. The study includesUkrainian literature of the 19th-21st centuries, with its outstanding achivements and contradictions.Special attention is paid to the semantic codes and artistic features of iconic works of Ukrainian literature. Ukrainian literature of the 19th-21st centuries is the main object of study, and the focus is on semiotic dominants and artistic features of significantworks of Ukrainian literature. The study reinterprets the canonical works of Taras Shevchenko, by revealing the peculiarities of the artist and his legasy, especially in the Soviet era. The main focus is towards the era of modernism, and tothe works of Ivan Franko, Mykhailo Kotsyubynsky, and Volodymyr Vynnychenko, which are viewed through the lens of ideological practices and visual poetry. In analyzing the modernist discourse, the researchers determinethat experimentalism is one of the main aesthetic practices of the new era. An analysis of Soviet literature focuses on the phenomena of socialist realism and the Sixtiers. The study examines the canonical role of socialist realism inSoviet literature, its phases, as well as the revolutionary role of the Sixtiers in overcoming the priority of socialist realism in the context of the Soviet literature and adopting a new aesthetic. In the analysis of contemporary Ukrainian literature, the literary portraits of the contemporary artists are studied, the artistic features of their most representative works are clarified, and the main tendencies incontemporary literature development are revealed.
