The object of the research is the process of development of managerial competence of the managers of the enterprise. The subject of the research is theoretical, methodical and applied aspects of the development of managerial competence of company executives in the conditions of professionalization of management. The scientific novelty of the obtained results is as follows: Has received further development: a procedure for diagnosing the development of managerial competence of middle management, which provides first, - the assessment, readiness and ability to perform professional functions (planning, organization, motivation, control), and second, - assessing their personal potential for professionalization (intrinsic motivation, socio-psychological characteristics and abilities, professional self-concept), which in the complex allows the highest level of team management to be systematically analyzed in the legal competence of middle management and to develop constructive measures for its development; The typological classification of the company executives was further developed due to the enrichment of its characteristics, which made it possible to distinguish four types of enterprise executives (self-actualized, temporarily competent, temporarily incompetent, problematic) and to provide a specification of the management competency development program for each type of managers.
