In difficult engineering and geological conditions, with increasing speeds and load of rolling stock, it is necessary to take measures to protect the ground. The interaction of the sleeper and the ballast material can be significantly improved by changing the shape and frictional properties of its lower surface. Another way to stabilize the ballast prism is associated with the use of geosynthetic materials that perform the functions of reinforcing structures of flat geosynthetic gratings and separating layers of woven and nonwoven materials. Reinforcing structures interfere with the dynamics of gravel grains, reducing its wear and redistribute the load coming from the upper structure of the track and transferred to the lower structural layers of the railway track. It is possible to increase the stability of the railway track in the plan and profile, using the method of fixing the shoulder of the ballast prism and ballast between the sleepers of polymeric binders based on polyurethane. The size and shape of the formed geocomposites allow to vary the parameters of longitudinal and transverse stability of the track. For additional stabilization of the railway track in the longitudinal plan and profile, anchor structures are used, the rail sleeper lattice, ballast layer, ballast base and earthen bed are "stitched". All the above technical solutions are aimed at extending the life cycle of the railway track and improving the safety of trains. When choosing them, the most important arguments are the cost of work, maintainability in subsequent maintenance and change the repair time.
