It is substantiated that the competitiveness of the labor market in modern conditions depends on the potential of its flexibility, ability to quickly adapt to rapid changes in new technologies and social challenges. A methodical approach to assessing the flexibility of the labor market in Ukraine has been developed. The necessity of creating a holistic model of the state migration policy on the basis of developing an effective flexible and stable mechanism of interdepartmental cooperation in the conditions of instability is substantiated. Based on the generalization of the world experience of regulation in the field of migration, a set of directions for improving the regulatory and legal and institutional support of the state migration policy of Ukraine has been developed. It is shown that employment in Ukraine is gender segregated not only horizontally but also vertically and the extent of vertical gender segregation is estimated. For the first time, using the method of decomposition, the influence on the probability of career advancement of personal characteristics of employees and the parameters of their jobs with the consequences of discrimination in the domestic labor market is distinguished. According to the results of econometric analysis, the main factors that determine the involvement of the individual in informal employment in Ukraine are identified. For the first time, they were considered separately for hired labor and self-employment, which revealed the internal heterogeneity of the structure of informal employment.
