Organizational and methodological principles are substantiated, leading strategies are investigated and a model of formation of professional competencies of the future primary school teacher in a higher education institution is developed. The efficiency and possibilities of introduction of components of this model in educational process of pedagogical establishments are opened, the maintenance of preparation of teachers for the organization and realization of educational process in elementary school is analyzed. The structure of educational and professional programs and scientific and methodological support of professional training of future primary school teachers in the modernization of pedagogical education has been improved.
