The properties of thermochromic VO2 films obtained by two methods were investigated: magnetron sputtering on a heated substrate (widely used) and magnetron sputtering on a "cold" (200oC) substrate with subsequent heat treatments, as well as analysis of the effect of heat treatments on their electrical and optical properties. The efficiency of the proposed two-stage method of film formation, which consists mainly of a highly ordered monoclinic phase VO2, is demonstrated.
