Within the report, mass of modification is realized for starting mass (in the end of designing stage) and takeoff one (which is used to certify the modification). Models to estimate the increase of both starting and takeoff masses have been created. It was ascertained that, an airplane center-of-gravity shift backwards increases the airplane lift-to-drag ratio in level flight. The increase in lift-to-drag ratio manifests strongly under big angle-of-attack of level flight, thus at big flight mass (in the considered example this increase makes 2.30 – 3.06 %). To increase lift-to-drag ratio of An-140-200 wings, the attachment coordinate of rectangular wing central section and trapezoidal wing ( ) is changed from = 0.109 for An-140 till = 0.43 for An-140-200. It ensured the decrease in induced drag at the same value of the lifting force for the wings of modification An 140 200. Application of the introduced new methods and methodology allows to reduce considerably the takeoff and landing run of the modified airplane; and on this base, the required runway length for the heavier airplane modification An-140-200 ( = 24 t) is kept on the same level as its base version ( = 21 t), and as a result, the airplane modification Ан-140-200 can be based on the third class airfields.
