The purpose of the work is to develop equipment and processes for vacuum-arc synthesis of high quality antifriction carbon coatings to protect the surface of parts of complex shape and large size up to 300 mm in diameter, used in metalworking, mechanical engineering, aerospace, medicine, micromechanics. Research methods - magnetometry, optical interferometry, mathematical modeling. Documentation for manufacture of equipment for vacuum-arc deposition of high-quality carbon coatings on large parts up to 300 mm in diameter was developed. Output electromagnetic coil of a new design to the source of filtered plasma was made, distribution of transporting magnetic field measured. The field induction reaches 600 Gs at a current of 200 A. The use of a magnetic concentrator allows to increase by 1.5 times the diameter of the deposition zone of the coating of uniform thickness. The elements of the transport system of the vacuum-arc plasma source with a rectilinear filter were optimized. Calculations of magnetic fluxes in the FEMM program showed that the use of new design allows to increase 1.3 times the efficiency of plasma transport to the substrate with a diameter of 300 mm. Plasma transportation is optimal at the output coil current (40-140) A. The influence of ion bombardment of the growth surface and deposition temperature on the activation of radiation-stimulated processes of diamond-like coatings synthesis was investigated by the method of mathematical modeling. In the model of nonlocal thermoelastic ion peak, taking into account the sputtering processes at different angles of ion incidence, the dependences of internal stresses and growth rate on the deposition parameters at constant and pulse potential on the substrate are calculated.
