Object of research – ecosystems of Polissya of Ukraine as vulnerable to wildfires.
Subject of research – methods for assessing the flammability, risk and behavior of wildland fires using geographic information technologies.
The aim of the project is to develop with application of remote sensing methods, geostatistics and field experimental studies sets of geospatial data and models that describe the main parameters of vegetation and fuel load in natural ecosystems of Ukrainian Polissya, including areas contaminated with radionuclides due to the Chornobyl power plant accident.
