Fundamental research has been carried out on the theoretical and methodological foundations of economic development and entrepreneurship in the context of globalization processes. The main directions of accelerating the development of entrepreneurship in Ukraine have been identified, namely: stimulating the development of entrepreneurship in industries that ensure the highest efficiency of social production and its competitiveness through the use of the achievements of scientific and technological progress, resource-saving technologies, the release of fundamentally new types of products; strengthening of state support for small and medium-sized businesses; further improvement of the legislative and regulatory framework to create favorable conditions for the development of entrepreneurship; strengthening the responsibility of the executive authorities and civil servants for the implementation of the relevant laws on the development of entrepreneurial activity. The results obtained have found practical application in the educational process.
