The object of research is the current system of drinking water supply of the population and spring waters of Eastern Ukraine.
The subject of research - quantitative and qualitative characteristics of spring waters, their protection and system of use for drinking purposes in emergencies.
The purpose of the work is to develop a backup system of drinking water supply of the population of Eastern Ukraine with spring water in emergency situations: military action or man-made disaster.
Research methods - field surveys of sources, research of the current quality of spring waters and determination of its compliance with regulatory requirements, creation of digital maps of the location of sources by GIS, methods of geospatial analysis.
The research report contains: analysis of the current state of the drinking water supply system of the population of Eastern Ukraine and possible scenarios of its violation in the conditions of military actions or man-made disasters; description of the register of spring waters of the eastern regions of Ukraine; description of geographic information system with data of spatial location of sources and basic cartographic layers of topographic and hydrogeological information; methods for determining the supply zones of spring waters on the basis of digital models of relief and groundwater runoff; geoinformation cartographic models of power supply zones of sources; methods of assessing the protection of spring waters, forecasting their quality status and establishing sanitary protection zones; methods for assessing the suitability of spring water for emergency water supply for urban and rural areas; technological and organizational scheme of using spring water for drinking water supply in emergency conditions for Eastern Ukraine; draft guiding normative document conclus
