The use of new buffered preservatives in technological process of harvesting wilted alfalfa mass and a mixture of winter cereals with legumes and other crops has been determined. Preservation of nutrients in alfalfa wet hay harvesting increased to 92-94%, and hay from winter intermediate crops to 85-88%. The quality of hay and resistance to storage conditions are due to the uniformity of the buffered preservatives introduction into the axial channels of rolls of different densities (182-225 kg/m3) and reduction of pathogenic microflora according to the protocols of sanitary-microbiological studies.
