Description

 Technology of harvesting pressed hay with buffered preservatives based on organic acids and their salts has been improved. The use of new buffered preservatives in technological process of harvesting wilted alfalfa mass and a mixture of winter cereals with legumes and other crops has been determined. Preservation of nutrients in alfalfa wet hay harvesting increased to 92-94%, and hay from winter intermediate crops to 85-88%. The quality of hay and resistance to storage conditions are due to the uniformity of the buffered preservatives introduction into the axial channels of rolls of different densities (182-225 kg/m3) and reduction of pathogenic microflora according to the protocols of sanitary-microbiological studies.
