We have demonstrated (in collaboration) that NETs are involved in: blood occlusion during acute inflammation (Science,2017), kidney failure (JASN,2019); initiation of gallstones (Immunity,2019). We also showed that NETs are beneficial when isolating areas of necrosis (Front.Immunology,2016) or boosting of immune response for novel vaccine adjuvants (Materials Today,2019). NETs are recognized as main lung damager at COVID (Front.Pharm.,2020). Our preliminary data suggests at least 3 conditions where NETs can be important in initiating pathology: liver damage at NAFLD; brain damage during malaria and gout; predetermining lung damage (including COVID) upon soot inhalation. These 3 hypotheses will be tested within the project, as well as needed infrastructure will be established. The latter include small animal in vivo imaging device and facilities, not currently available in Ukraine Product Description popup.authors popup.nrat_date 2021-01-20 Close
