 Research report: 321 pages, sources - 49, tables - 23, figures - 16. Research work consists of 5 chapters. The object of research is the ability of a separate battalion of territorial defense to perform tasks as assigned. The purpose of the study is developing a draft methodology for determining the capabilities of a particular battalion of territorial defense to perform its tasks in accordance with the tasks assigned. Research methods: a set of methods of problem-chronological, historical, theoretical, systematic and empirical research. Research results: 1. An analysis of the conditions and factors that affect the ability of forces and means of a separate battalion of territorial defense to perform special (combat) tasks. 2. The indicators and initial data on the substantiation of the list of capabilities of a separate battalion of territorial defense in the performance of certain special (combat) tasks have been analyzed. 3. A methodology draft for determining the capabilities of a separate territorial defense battalion has been developed. 4. The order of assessment of a separate battalion of territorial defense according to its capabilities was defined. 5. The project of methodical recommendations to officials of separate TD battalion concerning definition of abilities of governance and divisions to carry out special (combat) tasks on purpose is developed. 6. Research materials can be used during the preparation, planning and participation of units of a separate TD battalion in the performance of special (combat) tasks for the purpose.
