popup.description2
The purpose of the work is to create a software module for estimating subpixel displacement of satellite images.
The study was commissioned by China Talent and Technology Co. (CTTC Co Ltd.) on behalf of the Beijing Institute of Space Mechanics and Electronics (BISME). Contractor - Scientific Center for Aerospace Research of the Earth (CASRE) IGS NAS of Ukraine, no co-contractors.
Information part of the report consist from introduction, 3 chapters, 10 sub-sections, conclusions and reference list.
The main results of the research are two specialized software modules: for combining satellite images, and for subpixel-aligned satellite imagery resolution enhancement. The first module is auxiliary. It provides automatic alignment and cutting input satellite imagery set using a frequency domain correlation algorithm. The second module is the main one; it is designed to create a single satellite image of high resolution from the input set of integer images. This software module is based on statistical regularization of a set of subpixel-aligned images, evaluation of their transmission and noise functions, as well as filtering. All calculations in this module are also performed in the frequency domain. Both modules are designed using modern computer technology.
The developed modules were tested using real satellite images and demonstrated a sufficient increase of spatial resolution.
