 Object of research: long flax, curly flax, mezheumok flax, Fusarium oxysporum f. Lini. Purpose: to develop an improved method of creating resistant to major diseases breeding material of flax. Research methods: field - for phenological observations of the studied varieties of flax gene pool, determining the nature of the interaction between the plant and the pathogen and sampling for laboratory analysis; immunological - to study the characteristics of the causative agent of fusarium wilt, accounting for the assessment of damage to samples, the creation of disease-resistant breeding material; hybridological - to create highly productive and resistant to major diseases numbers; measuring and weight - for the analysis of plants by morphological characteristics and accounting for structural elements of productivity; individual selection - to create a source material with high productivity and resistance to pathogens; statistical - for mathematical processing of experimental research results. Results and their novelty. For the first time in the conditions of north-eastern Polissya of Ukraine regularities of development of basic diseases in natural conditions and conditions of artificial complex infectious background are established, on the basis of immunological assessment of selection samples of flax sources of resistance to fusarium -long. The species composition of fusarium wilt pathogens and the degree of their pathogenicity in the conditions of the north-eastern part of Ukraine have been established. The dependence of the signs of long flax productivity on the degree of resistance to fusarium wilt was revealed. An express method for assessing the resistance of flax plants to fusarium wilt in the laboratory has been developed, which allows for preliminary prediction of the development of disease samples in natural conditions before sowing. Flax starting material resistant to major diseases was identified for further selection work.
